We are seeking an Engineer to support an enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environment at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Veloz IT Solutions is seeking a Test Automation / DevSecOps Engineer to support a Federal Government program focused on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Platform, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining automated testing frameworks, secure development practices, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and scalable solutions.
The Test Automation / DevSecOps Engineer will work closely with the Architect, Developers, and Data SME to integrate testing, security, and automation throughout the software development lifecycle, aligning with Federal cybersecurity requirements (FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST SP 800-218 Secure Software Development Framework).
Test Automation & Quality Assurance
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for SharePoint Online, Power Platform applications, and integrated systems
- Develop and execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance test (UAT) support scripts
- Implement automated validation for:
- Power Apps and Power Automate workflows
- SharePoint site functionality and configurations
- Data integrity and reporting outputs (Power BI/Qlik-aligned solutions)
- Support defect tracking, root cause analysis, and resolution validation
DevSecOps & CI/CD Implementation
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps or Git-based platforms
- Integrate automated testing into build and release pipelines
- Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and deployment automation where applicable
- Support version control, branching strategies, and release management processes
Security & Compliance
- Implement and support secure code practices aligned with:
- NIST SP 800-53
- NIST SP 800-218 (SSDF)
- FISMA Moderate requirements
- Perform and support static and dynamic code analysis (SAST/DAST) using tools such as SonarQube
- Assist with security vulnerability identification, remediation, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility testing requirements in coordination with development teams
Automation & Platform Integration
- Automate operational and administrative processes using:
- PowerShell
- Azure Automation
- Power Platform tools
- Support integration testing across:
- SharePoint Online
- Power Platform
- Azure services
- External enterprise systems
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Implement monitoring and logging strategies to support system performance and reliability
- Analyze test results and pipeline performance to identify areas for improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance:
- Code quality
- Deployment efficiency
- System security posture
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in test automation, DevOps, or DevSecOps roles
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint Online and Power Platform
- Hands-on experience with:
- CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar)
- Automated testing frameworks
- SAST/DAST tools (e.g., SonarQube)
- Experience working in Federal or regulated environments
- Knowledge of:
- FISMA Moderate requirements
- NIST SP 800-53 and secure development practices
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) testing and deployment
- Familiarity with AI-enabled platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder)
- Experience with SharePoint migration and modernization projects
- Understanding of Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance
- Experience with data validation and reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik Sense)
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as:
- Microsoft Azure / DevOps certifications
- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or similar
- Security+ or equivalent
- Strong oral and written communication skills with experience engaging directly with government or enterprise clients
- Proven background in Agile methodologies, Scaled Agile Framework experience preferred
- Ability to obtain NIH Public Trust clearance upon hire
